Jazzamboka have been named the Stingray Rising Star Award winners at Montreal International Jazz Festival 2017!

The TD Jazz Youth Summit at Ottawa Jazz Festival is one of Stingray's favourite Rising Star programs. The summit allows young jazz musicians from across Canada to learn from and perform with amazing established talent at a real festival. We have been huge fans of the Arkells since their appearance on Stingray PausePlay. We were thrilled to have them guest program a channel this month! They are one of Canada’s most exciting bands right now. The group’s genuine and intimate songs walk the line between humour and melancholy. The 2017 edition of the North Sea Jazz Festival started with long lines at the Ahoy Rotterdam. But the beautiful weather had everyone was in a good mood and no one complained about the extra security.

The combination of free and non-free concerts draws an enormously varied audience: men and women of all ages flock to enjoy the diversity that contemporary jazz has to offer.
