What is your earliest artistic memory?
I used to take pottery classes when I was younger. It was run by this old woman who had a kiln in her backyard. I remember bringing home a clay sheep that I had made for my mom!
What is your most favorite cover that you have done?
“Gladly,” by Tirzah or “Edge of Desire,” by John Mayer.
What does pop music convey like no other music genre?
Pop music has the ability to have you dancing and crying all at the same time.
What is your best and/or funniest memory on stage?
When we played Lollapalooza Chile, we had a really sweet girl play saxophone with us on stage. It was the best moment ever.
What is your favorite song of all time?
“Let’s Stay Together,” by Al Green.
What is your favorite album of all time?
I don’t think I can answer that! That’s an impossible question.
What song do love performing the most on stage, and why?
I haven’t performed it yet, but I know that “Sofia” is going to be the most incredible song live. I can’t wait to play it!
If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing right now?
I would be a junior at Syracuse University, learning about the music industry.
Which musician(s) would you like to collaborate with next?
Erika de Casier.
What is one thing that your fans don’t know about you (a fun fact)?
I can put my foot behind my head.
What’s your motto advice you live by?
Everybody’s going through something.
What is the best advice that you have ever been given?
My mom always told me to treat myself like I would treat a kid. Be kind, be polite, and be considerate.
What’s coming up for you in the next weeks and months?
Right now, I’m rehearsing for a tour in Nashville, Tennessee. From there, we start in Chicago for our three-month-long tour in the US and Europe.
Who do you hope is the next Stingray Rising Star after you and why?
Lava La Rue. She’s the coolest girl ever and is a force of nature. Watch out for her!
