Carly Pearce | Interview | Stingray Rising Stars
Meet our latest Stingray Rising Star, Carly Pearce!
Since leaving her Kentucky home at age 16 to perform in Dollywood, the country singer has become an award-winning artist who embraces the genre’s evolution. Her debut studio album Every Little Thing made waves on the Billboard Country Airplay charts, climbing to Number One. She has performed with Blake Shelton, Rascal Flatts, Luke Bryan, and Jason Aldean, amongst other country stars.
Her new album CARLY PEARCE is set for release on Valentine’s Day and includes her single “I Hope You’re Happy Now,” her duet with Lee Brice. We were thrilled to have the chance to ask Carly a few questions. Check out her interview and listen to her songs on the following Stingray Music’s channels:
What is your earliest artistic memory?
I vividly remember making up songs when I was about four or five years old, singing into my McDonald's microphone pretending I was Faith Hill.
What is your favorite cover song?
I do a ‘90s female country medley in my show: a little Faith Hill, a little Dixie Chicks, a little Shania, a little LeAnn Rimes.
What does country music convey like no other music genre?
It conveys truth and vulnerability like no other genre, in my opinion. It goes straight to the heart.
What is your best or funniest memory on stage?
Oh gosh- there have been so many! My band is made up of my best friends and definitely the brothers I never had, so you can only imagine all of the antics that happen onstage.
What is your most favorite song of all time?
"You Don't Even Know Who I Am," by Patty Loveless.
What is your favorite album of all time?
It's a tossup between Alison Krauss and Union Station's Live album, and Dixie Chicks’ Home.
What song do you love performing the most on stage, and why?
"Every Little Thing" because it embodies so much of "everything happens for a reason," and I am proud of how I have overcome so many obstacles in my personal and professional life. I never gave up.
If you didn’t become a musician, what would you be doing right now?
Oh gosh, I'd be lost! I think I would go into fitness and nutrition.
Which musician(s) would you like to collaborate with next?
Dolly and Alison Krauss!
Who are your favorite music artists/ bands?
Faith Hill, Alison Krauss, Dolly, Sonya Isaacs, Trisha Yearwood, and Dixie Chicks.
Favorite restaurant in Nashville?
Burger Up and Epice.
What is one thing that your fans don’t know about you (a fun fact)?
I am a big loner! Before I got married, I loved going to dinner and movies alone. I am definitely an introvert at heart.
What’s your favorite motto?
What Would Dolly Do?
What is the best advice that you have ever been given?
Stay true to who you are and be kind.
What’s coming up for you in the next weeks and months?
I am releasing my sophomore album which I am so excited about-- and gearing up for a very busy year on the road with some talented boys I love!
