This year’s East Coast Music Association conference and awards (#ECMA2018) is in the books. The event was an incredible success in Halifax this past week (May 2-6, 2018). Through the Export Development program, many representatives from festivals, theatres, and concert series from across Canada, Europe, and Australia attended as did music supervisors from LA. Many deals were struck!

The big winners at the ECMA Awards were Rose Cousins (@rosecousins), taking Album, Song and Folk Recording of the Year – pictured here with Stingray’s Roots programmer Greg Torrington.

The Amazing NL duo, The Fortunate Ones (@fortunateonesNL) were on hand performing 2 nights with Alan Doyle on the closing dates of their North American tour at the adjacent Casino Nova Scotia as well as a showcase at the conference itself. The Fortunate Ones’ new album, “Hold Fast” is due later this month and is already getting airplay on Stingray’s Alt-Country Americana channel in the US and numerous Vibes streams. No doubt that new album will figure heavily in the 2019 ECMAs!
