Stingray is ending 2018 on a high note with the launch of the free Stingray Music mobile app to all music fans in the US. It’s a momentous step for our expansion into the direct-to-consumer app market.
Available for iOS and Android, Stingray Music brings together 1000s of channels is all genres, each curated by a music expert. Forget guessing games, at the tap of a button you are guaranteed continuous music channels lovingly put together for all the moments that matter to you, whether it’s a family dinner, a roof-raising house party, or a vigorous workout. In addition to the fan-favorite feature the unlimited skip, Stingray Music provides listeners with personalized recommendations and access to an optimized search engine.
“Over the past year, we have been single-mindedly focused on developing an app that will enable us to enter the American market with what we believe is the easiest way to consume music,” said Pierre-Jean Lavigne, Senior Product Manager, Stingray Music. “Where other services may have become bloated with upsell schemes, superfluous features, and obscure artists most have never heard of, we have chosen to focus on the essentials: easy access to the music you really want to listen to.”
Stingray is no stranger to music services with more than a decade of B2B experience in 156 countries including the US where we count AT&T, Comcast, and Cox amongst long-standing clients. Stingray Music was first introduced in Canada as pay audio channels on television before making its mark as a mobile app with a 4.8 rating in the App Store.
“Stingray Music is changing what consumers have come to expect from music apps by focusing on what we do best: providing simple, curated, lean back listening experiences," said Fred Ranger, Vice-President, Product Marketing. “Making Stingray Music available to everyone in the US is a major milestone for our company. We have set ambitious expectations for ourselves, but with a decade of music expertise behind our belt, we are poised and ready to become a major player in the competitive music app market.”
