Stingray houdt altijd zijn ogen open voor nieuw talent. Om die reden is een tijdje geleden de ‘Open Podium Vibe’ in het leven geroepen, om naast grote ook kleine artiesten een platform te geven.

Via Stingray Music kun je al jouw favoriete artiesten beluisteren, en bovendien heb je de mogelijkheid om in deze vibe nieuw talent te ontdekken. De afspeellijst is verfrist met nummers van vier artiesten. In samenwerking met deze talenten voeren we een wederzijdse promotie uit om Stingray Music én hun muziek onder de aandacht te brengen.

Piet Junior

Deze rapper uit Zwolle heeft getekend bij het label van Ali B, waar hij in korte tijd heeft bewezen een veelbelovend talent te zijn binnen de Nederlandse muziekwereld. Waar hij voorheen rauwe rapnummers maakte, besloot Piet in 2021 een switch te maken naar feel good music, met meer invloeden vanuit de popwereld. Dit is te horen op tracks als Nirvana en Alles Wat Ik Doe. Piet is meerdere grote samenwerkingen aangegaan: met hiphopartiesten als Esko en Young Ellens, en binnen de Nederpop met Marlous en Tinus Hoekstra.

KIMONO

KIMONO loopt voorop als het gaat om de sound van de hedendaagse R&B. Zijn zangstijl en funky beats maken hem in Nederland uniek in zijn soort, wat bij vlagen doet denken aan buitenlandse artiesten als The Weeknd, PARTYNEXTDOOR en Bryson Tiller. Toonaangevende publicaties in Noisey, 3VOOR12 en i-D Magazine tipten hem al als grote belofte! Ook trok hij het land al door met het rondreizende festival de Popronde en verzorgde hij support acts voor Amerikaanse rappers als GoldLink en 6LACK. KIMONO heeft de laatste tijd zeker niet stil gezeten: onlangs bracht hij zijn ep Liefdesbang uit.

Zeno

Een artiest die zowel toegankelijk is voor Urbanliefhebbers als het grotere publiek is zeldzaam in de muziekwereld, maar Zeno flikt het. Met invloeden van hiphop, R&B en Nederlandstalige singer/songwriters heeft hij een enorm aanstekelijke sound gecreëerd. Zeno wisselt op verschillende nummers tussen Urban beats en een toegankelijker akoestische sound, maar altijd met melodieuze raps en pakkende refreinen. In het voorjaar van 2021 bracht hij zijn ep Beste Versie Van Mezelf, met daarop samenwerkingen met Urban zanger Jayh en producers Froduction en Skiba. Zelf staat hij ook zijn mannetje als producer.

Dillenburg

Zes jaar geleden stond hij al op Noorderslag, maar na zijn successen als het tekenen bij Warner Music en het verzorgen van de achtergrondzang bij Anouk werd het stil rond nederpopzanger Dillenburg. Nu, na zes jaar, is hij weer terug met zijn ep Boy Van De Liefde. Hij heeft de switch gemaakt van Engels- naar Nederlandstalig repertoire, en met meer zelfvertrouwen dan ooit is hij helemaal terug om te doen wat hij het liefste doet: het maken van muziek.

GIVĒON

The Californian R&B singer's debut EP, Take Time, was nominated for Best R&B Album at the 2021 Grammy Awards. His EP, When It's All Said and Done, features production from Boi-1da (Drake, J. Cole, Cardi B, Kehlani, Lil Nas X) & Sevn Thomas (who executive produced Take Time). He has recently collaborated with Justin Bieber and Daniel Caesar for the hit song, "Peaches.".

Tate McRae

This Canadian pop star has been climbing the charts since her first viral hit, "One Day" which has garnered over 36 million streams. Her hit single, "You Broke Me First" gained international recognition, becoming her first charting single. Besides music, she is also prominently known as a dancer which is showcased in many of her music videos.

Duncan Laurence

This Dutch artist was a semi-finalist in The Voice of Holland. His first studio album, Small Town Boy, was certified platinum in the Netherlands, and his single "Arcade" skyrocketed to viral fame in 2020.

Peach Tree Rascals

This band/collective from San Jose, California first saw success with their viral single, "Maripoza." After signing to a label they moved to Los Angeles to continue working on music. Their debut EP "Camp Nowhere" was released in April 2021.

This Australian artist toured with Lewis Capaldi in 2019 soon after releasing his second EP. He has worked with and written songs for many artists such as Ciara, Sabrina Claudio, Keith Urban, and Jessie J. Surf Mesa

The LA-based electronic producer's hit song "ily (i love you baby" has garnered over 200 million streams since its release in November 2019. Influenced at a young age by his musically-inclined family, he has been producing since the 3rd grade, teaching himself music production via video tutorials. He is inspired by musicians like David Bowie, Queen, and Prince.

The Kid LAROI

This 16-year-old Australian rapper first made waves when he became a finalist in a Triple J competition and with his hit single "Blessings" in 2018. Despite a rocky childhood living in poverty, LAROI focused on his music. It paid off when he caught the attention of Chicago rapper-turned-industry exec, Lil Bibby, who gave him an opportunity to perform alongside Juice WRLD. In addition to the latter, he has also since collaborated with artists like Lil Mosey and Lil Tecca.

Surfaces

This indie-pop duo first met over the internet, where they collaborated ideas online before deciding to meet in person. Their hit single "Sunday Best" has garnered over 500 million streams and was certified platinum. They recently collaborated online with Elton John on the song "Learn To Fly" during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Regard

The Kosovan DJ and producer first started his career in the electronic dance scene before switching over to deep house. He first started making music at the age of 15 when he picked up DJing. His viral single "Ride It" has over 600 million streams to date and has hit the charts worldwide.

Spillage Village

This Atlanta-based collective consists of rappers, singers, and producers, namely Earthgang, JID, Hollywood JB, Jurdan Bryant, Mereba, 6lack, and Benji. The supergroup had humble beginnings from the college dorms of JID and Earthgang, which eventually expanded to the rest of the team. Their latest album, Spillagion, was recorded in a house that JID rented during the peak of quarantine.

Kito & Empress Of

This versatile Australian DJ and producer credits much of her early success to MySpace, where she was noticed by Skream and Diplo, the latter officially signing her to his label, Mad Decent. She has produced for pop artists like Jorja Smith and Mabel, and her songs have been sampled by rappers like T.I. and Ludacris. Her latest EP, HAANI, features a wide range of artists such as producer Hudson Mohawke, rapper Trinidad James, and pop duo Broods.

Influenced by hip-hop, indie rock, and funk, this 22-year old artist from North Carolina was an actor before deciding to pursue music instead. Since releasing his first single in 2018, he has signed to Fader Label.

BENEE

The 20-year-old pop star from New Zealand started her career doing covers and writing songs from her bedroom. She was first noticed by Josh Fountain, member of the band Leisure, and they worked together to write the song "Tough Guy." Her viral single Supalonely has over 200 million streams.

Jaebanzz

The 19-year-old Miami-based artist gained a large following with just a handful of songs, amassing over 1 million streams. He takes inspiration from modern emo rap, such as Lil Uzi Vert and Juice WRLD.

Bakar

The London-based musician has received praise from Skepta and Elton John and is known for blending genres like rock and hip-hop. After the release of his debut album Badkid in 2018, he went on a headline tour with several sold-out shows. His latest EP, Will You Be My Yellow?, was released in September and features rising star Dominic Fike.

Ekali

Hailing from Vancouver, BC, this producer and DJ first received recognition when he was credited on Drake's mixtape, If You're Reading This It's Too Late in 2015. Before diving into electronic music he was a member of the indie-rock band Said The Whale, demonstrating his versatility in music. He has DJed at numerous festivals including Coachella and EDC Las Vegas, and has toured around the world. He was briefly signed to Skrillex's label, OWSLA, and is now set to release his own label this year called Awakening Records.

Black Pumas

Made up of singer Eric Burton and producer Adrian Quesada, this funky duo from Austin, Texas, was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2020 Grammy Awards despite having sold significantly fewer records than their contenders. Before meeting Eric through a mutual friend, Adrian was in the band Grupo Fantasma who won a Grammy for their 2010 album El Existential. Meanwhile, Eric was busking at the Santa Monica pier, eventually moving to Austin and busking there.

MAXO

This up-and-coming rapper from LA was inspired by his brother to start rapping. He recorded his first mixtape on cassettes and uploaded them to the internet in 2015, which opened up a new fanbase. The positive feedback from fans pushed him to keep going. He eventually signed with Def Jam and in March 2019, he released his major label debut LIL BIG MAN.

Bryce Vine

The rising pop star from LA made music as a form of self-therapy when he was diagnosed with ADD and depression as a young child. He later attended Berklee College of Music on a scholarship but struggled with a sense of belonging once he was there. In 2017 he independently released his hit single "Drew Barrymore" which caught the attention of labels.

Ren

This 17-year-old Canadian indie-pop singer-songwriter started writing music at 13 and was performing at open mic nights around Toronto. Now signed to Geffen Records, she has already garnered over 3 million streams on her hit single, "mind games." Her debut EP, teenage angst, came out March 13, 2020.

Easy Life

The UK band was formed in 2017 by frontman Murray Matravers and fellow bandmate Sam Hewitt, who met in school and bonded over music. All five band members are multi-instrumentalists. Over the last year, they have played sold-out tours and at Coachella, and have released two mixtapes as well as their debut album, Junk Food.

Joy Crookes

At just 20 years old, the London-based singer-songwriter has already released two EPs with her latest, Perception, released in June. She started playing the guitar and songwriting at the age of 12, using it as an escape for her emotions. Of Bangledeshi and Irish descent, she draws on her dual identity and borrows from both cultures for many of her songs . The video for her single "Don't Let Me Down" has over 1.1M views. She is nominated for the Brits Rising Star Award this year.

On repeat: "Hurts"

Red Hearse

Led by Jack Antonoff, the Grammy-nominated produer and songwriter, the synth-pop band released their self-titled debut album this past August. The band also consists of Sounwave, a hip-hop producer who has frequently collaborated with Kendrick Lamar, and singer-songwriter Sam Dew who has worked with artists like Taylor Swift. Their album is inspired by their respective hometowns of New Jersey, Compton, and Chicago.

Ambré

The 23-year-old New Orleans R&B singer has collaborated with artists like H.E.R., Kehlani, and Ryan Hemsworth. She opened for Grammy-nominated Lucky Daye's "Painted" tour in 2019. Her latest EP Pulp was released in November and features BJ The Chicago Kid and G-Eazy.

With his first freestyle to go viral, "Straight Rhymez," the 19-year-old UK rapper has accumulated over 14 million views since it was uploaded in 2018 and gained the attention of Stormzy. He has opened for veteran grime rapper Wiley and the late Cadet on their respective tours. He recently featured on Ed Sheeran's "Take Me Back to London."

Audrey

The 20-year-old from New Jersey started writing her own music in high school, posting songs on social media before getting recognized by Roc Nation producer Anwar Sawyer. Katori Walker

The upcoming Pasadena, California rapper first gained attention with his video for "Ormoni," named after his brother who was killed in 2017 in a gang-related activity and which hit over 4.2 million views. His music and accompanying visuals are often political, touching on issues within the black community in America, with lyrics that are frank but provocative. He released his third project, Stubborn EP, in March and recently toured with Vince Staples on his Smile You're On Camera Tour. He hopes to collaborate with bigger artists such as Kendrick and J. Cole for his debut album.

On repeat: "Dolla Save Me"

Burna Boy

The Nigerian singer released his breakthrough album, African Giant, in July, which received widespread critical acclaim and was nominated for Best World Music Album at this year's Grammys. He has collaborated with artists like Jorja Smith, Future, and was featured most recently on Stormzy's track, "OWN IT," with Ed Sheeran. He has performed at Coachella and won Best International Act at the BET Awards, both this year.

Yuna

The Malaysian pop/R&B singer has been singing since she was seven years old and first started sharing her music via MySpace. She dropped out of law school and moved to Los Angeles at 23, where she signed to the Fader Label and was mentored by Pharell. She has worked with artists like Tyler, The Creator and G-Eazy, and performed at major festivals such as Lollapallooza. She is set to embark on her U.S. tour called "An Acoustic Evening With Yuna" this winter.

YBN Cordae

The 22-year-old Maryland rapper started his rap career at 15, releasing three mixtapes from 2014 to 2017 under the moniker Entendre. His first single to go viral was a remix of Eminem's "My Name Is" followed by his response to J.Cole's "1985" that has since accumulated over 12 million views. He was featured on XXL's Freshman Class of 2019 alongside other up-and-coming rappers like Megan Thee Stallion. His debut album The Lost Boy is nominated for Best Rap Album at the Grammy's this year and features Anderson .Paak, Chance The Rapper, and Pusha T.

Clairo

This 21-year-old bedroom pop singer-songwriter began uploading songs to the internet in 2013 and first went viral in 2017 with her hits "Pretty Girl" and "Flaming Hot Cheetos." Her debut album, Immunity, was co-produced by former Vampire Weekend member, Rostam Batmanglij. She has previously toured with Dua Lipa and Khalid, and has already performed at major festivals like Coachella and Governer's Ball.

Ceraadi

Made up of sisters Saiyr and Emaza, this LA-based duo recently signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation. With over 1 million followers on their socials, their latest single "Loyal" off their debut EP has reached over 2 million streams since its release in May. The sisters are also passionate about fashion, having partnered with Rihanna's Fenty x Savage collection as ambassadors.

Drax Project

The four-piece New Zealand band first caught the attention of the public with their 2017 single "Woke Up Late" which has 60 million streams to date and won single of the year at the New Zealand Music Awards. The success of the song allowed the band to open for international artists Ed Sheeran, Lorde, and Camila Cabello. Their debut album Drax Project was released in September.

AJ Mitchell

The 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Belleville, Illinois first started making music at the age of 13 while uploading his songs to YouTube. One of his early songs has already reached over 60 million streams, and since then he has released two songs that have made the Top 40 charts including his most recent single from his upcoming album, "All My Friends." He went on tour in the US this past winter as the headliner.

Kenzie

The 15-year-old pop singer and younger sister of Maddie Ziegler (Sia's dancer) started her career in 2011 on the reality show, Dance Moms. She released her debut album in 2014 under the name Mack Z, and has dabbled in modelling, acting, dancing, and writing since then. Her last album, Phases, was released in November 2018 and features a song written by Sia. She has just recently finished touring with boy band, PrettyMuch.

YBN Cordae

The R&B singer-songwriter was signed at the age of 13 and caught the attention of Ed Sheeran who shared her music on social media. She has supported Ella Mai on her US tour, performed at Glastonbury, and has been featured in publications like BET, Vibe, and Complex. She was nominated for Critics' Choice at the 2019 Brit Awards in February. Her debut album, Love & Compromise, is out on September 6.

J.S. Ondara

The Kenyan-born folk singer-songwriter moved to the United States in 2013 with a dream of making music and singing. After gaining attention in the local Minneapolis scene and subsequently from labels, he started working on his debut album, Tales of America, which was released this past February.

Nicole Bus

Before signing to a major label, the half-Dutch half-Curaçaose R&B singer had a multifaceted musical journey - she won a national artist competition in the Netherlands, toured an album, attended the Conservatory of Amsterdam, and competed in The Voice of Holland. In another songwriting contest in Amsterdam, she met her current producer, Needlz, who has previously worked with Drake and Cardi B. She is currently signed to Jay-Z's Roc Nation and is expected to release her debut album soon.

JAMESDAVIS

The Inglewood, California, siblings consist of twins Jess and Erika, and their younger brother Auston. Although Jess signed to a label at a young age, she quit after a negative experience with the industry. Her and her siblings formed a band instead, making alternative R&B music that caught the attention of the Motown label. They released their latest EP, Masterpeace, in May and supported Leikeli47 on her Acryclic Tour in North America.
