So, without further ado, check out our Q&A with Jack Crawford!

What is your go-to song on the road?

My go-to song when on the road is “Hooked on a Feeling”. It is always a song I can enjoy no matter the situation.

What is your go-to karaoke song?

I can’t say karaoke is something I do often, if I were to get up on stage, my song would have to be “Back in Black” by AC/DC.

What is your favorite music video?

My favorite music video is “Big Balls” by AC/DC. It is a hilarious song and the music video goes so well to enhance the song.

What is your favorite place to listen to music?

My favorite place to listen to music has to be the car. Being a skier means a lot of time on the road and having music makes time go by a little faster.

What artist do you most admire?

The musician I admire the most has to be David Bowie because of his constant evolution throughout his career.

If you could only listen to 5 songs for the rest of your life, what would they be?

The songs I could listen to for the rest of my life are:

“Back in Black” and “Shook me all Night Long” by AC/DC
“Hooked on a Feeling” by Blue Swede
“More than a Feeling” by Boston
“House of the Rising Sun” by The Animals

What is your favorite Stingray Music Vibes channel?

My favorite Vibes channel is “Best of ‘80s and ‘90s Pop Rock”. When I was growing up, my mother and I would always listen to ‘80s rock on my way to school.

What songs do you listen to get pumped up to win?

If there was a song about your life, what would it be called? Who would sing it (dead or alive!)?

What is your go-to song while traveling?

“This Town” by Kygo & Sasha Sloan

What is your go-to karaoke song?

“You’re the One That I Want” by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John because karaoke songs are always more fun when performed with someone.

What is your favorite music video?

“Here It Goes Again” by OK GO. I love the use of treadmills and that it was shot in a single continuous take. It always makes me want to copy it.

Where is your favorite place to listen to music?

In the car! We do a lot of driving from one venue to another, and one of the best ways to pass the time is listening to music.

Which musician do you most admire?

Gord Downie from The Tragically Hip. I admire him not only as a musician, who paved the road for so many after him but also for his philanthropic work with the environment and indigenous affairs. He never stopped supporting causes that were close to his heart, even after being diagnosed with a brain tumor. He continued to do what he loved and never stopped living.

**What is your favorite Stingray Vibe? (on the Stingray Music mobile app)**

“Ultimate ‘90s Hip-Hop”, “Alternative Now”, and “Massive Classic Rock”. I honestly can’t choose between them. It all depends on how I’m feeling at the moment in time and what I’m doing. I have a few favorites because one vibe doesn’t really work for everything. In a week, I will probably have added two more!

If you could only listen to 5 songs for the rest of your life, what would they be?

“New Orleans is Sinking” by The Tragically Hip
“Hypnotize” by The Notorious B.I.G.
“I’m Not The Sun” by Arkells
“Cocoon (acoustic version)” by Milky Chance
“Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes

I like to listen to music at the gym while I’m working out and whenever I’m in the car. I love to sing-along when I’m in the car!

Which musician do you most admire?

Ed Sheeran. He’s creative with his music and he’s a super talented performer. I saw him in concert and all he had on stage was his guitar and loop machine. It was amazing!

If there was a song about your life, what would it be called? Who would sing it (dead or alive)?

What is your go-to song while traveling?

“Cover My Own” by Old Sea Brigade because the melody draws me in, making me look at the world differently and somehow appreciate it more. It’s like the song was created for me to bring me to my next destination.

What is your go-to karaoke song?

“Juicy” by Biggie Smalls because I am not the best singer in the world, so I don’t want to try to sing an intense ballad. I know all the lyrics to this song so that I can have more fun with it. And it is usually not what people expect from me. #DropTheMic

What is your favorite music video?

“Glorious” by Macklemore. In the music video, Macklemore surprises his grandma for her 100^th birthday and takes her out for a day of her dreams. My grandparents mean a lot to me, so this video hits home. The song has a remarkable story, is amazingly catchy, but honestly, how cute is his grandma?!

Where is your favorite place to listen to music?

Running in nature: my feet seem to move to the beat of the song. When I look around at my surroundings, they become part of the song’s story. And most of all, if I feel like busting a move, it's just me and the silent environment. You know, if a tree falls in the forest, and no one is around… and all that!

Which musician do you most admire?

Beyoncé because she’s kept her down-to-earth nature throughout the stages of her success. Her smile is contagious, and there is nothing that she can’t do. She danced a few months after giving birth, she writes her songs, and dropped a visual album with no warning. Talk about Flawless.

Upbeat: “Essential Back to School Hits”

Contemplative: “Songs for Autumn Skies” and “Pensive Melodies”

What songs do you listen to get pumped up to win?

To get pumped up to win, I need to find my rhythm and flow. If you find me at the starting line, you will usually see me grooving to the beat. I usually start my warm-up listening to some upbeat songs that draw me in such as “Fade” by Kanye West or “Flawless” by Beyoncé. A few minutes before I start, I put on “Juicy by Biggie Smalls. I try and rap the lyrics to the song: this keeps me in the moment, feeling the rhythm. I mean, who wouldn’t want to hear the chorus (“Don’t let them hold you down, reach for the stars”) before trying to reach their dream?

Mikaela Tommy

Mikaela Tommy, our headgear athlete, is a promising 22-year-old member of the Canadian Alpine Ski team who comes from skiing royalty. A native of Wakefield, Quebec, Mikaela has several impressive finishes at World Cup events to her name.

Mikaela’s accomplishments

2014-2015 season

2^nd place overall on the NorAm circuit, with a second-place title in the alpine combined and two third-place titles in giant slalom and SuperG
22^nd place giant slalom finish at the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek, Colorado
4^th place finish at the World Junior Championships in giant slalom

2015-2016 season

2^nd place finish on the NorAm circuit in a giant slalom race at Copper Mountain, Colorado
5^th place in slalom in Jackson, Wyoming

What’s your go-to sad/happy song?

At the moment, my favourite song to listen to while travelling is “Sunset Jesus” by Avicii because no matter how many times I listen to it, it never gets old.

What is your go-to karaoke song?

“Bohemian Rhapsody” by Queen is my favourite karaoke song.

What is your favorite music video?

I really enjoy the OK GO “Here It Goes Again” music video because it’s incredibly clever and done in one take.

What is your favorite place to listen to music?

My favourite place to listen to music is at the gym working out or in the kitchen when I’m cooking.

What artist do you most admire?

I most admire Dave Grohl for his accomplishments and because he seems like a genuine human being.

Songs that get me pumped up to win are “Without You by Avicii” and “Line of Sight” by ODESZSA.

If there was a song about my life it would be “Snowblind” by Bryan Adams.
