In 1987, the San Francisco Chronicle noted the 20th anniversary with several articles, including this one, which I’ve edited for space. I have not updated it but should note that since then, we’ve lost three of the people I spoke with: Bill Graham, Jerry Garcia, and Paul Kantner.

While Europe's Montreux Jazz Festival has already kicked off and the North Sea Jazz Festival is about to begin, their Canadian counterpart has started its 38th edition: the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal!

Ever since a visit to violin maker Johan Jacobs in Middelburg, I’ve become interested in violin construction. I had always wanted to build my own violin.
